Do you know how many days you have been alive? What if I asked you how old you are? Do you know how many years you have been alive? I’ll bet you could answer me right away. Unless you were eating a cookie and I had to wait for you to chew and swallow.
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
I have been alive for 19,916 days. In 86 days I will have been alive for 20,000 days. Robert D. Smith wrote the book, 20,000 Days and Counting. If you want to know how many days you have been alive, go to therobertd.com and type your birthday into his day calculator.
I have a signed hardback cover of the book that I won on Eva Scott’s blog. The book came in the mail on Friday with a small hand-made gift.
In the package with the book was a Teddy Bear. The Teddy Bear was hand stiched by Eva. The bear sits on my bookcase in front of my computer. The bear is a reminder to me to count my days. It took Eva 61 days to stitch the bear. I have named the bear Margaret.
I started to read 20,ooo Days and Counting. On page 6 Robert D. Smith asked several questions.
What can you and I do right now in order to make the most out of the years in front of us? What can we do to accomplish more, to celebrate more, to touch more lives in our remaining years than we have to this point?
How can we live our next days to the fullest?
-Robert D. Smith- 20,000 Days and Counting
After I read Mr. Smith’s questions on page six I closed the book and went in the basement. I have talked about the mess in my basement for months. I admitted to you that I am a hoarder. I am emotionally attached to objects.
What I can do right now to make the most of my life? Clean my basement.
I will live my days to the fullest with less clutter; Joola, my ping-pong table will stop crying and I will have more time to write and paint.
I will make today count.
How will you make today count? How will you live today to the fullest?
Please let me know in the comments. I would love to chat.
P.S. The book is an affiliate link. It won’t cost you anymore money to buy it here and the pennies Amazon pays me will help pay for kitty litter. I have four cats.
